Interstate 696 Overpass Carbon Fiber Wrap Repair

This MDOT project is situated along I-696, spanning across Farmington Hills and Southfield. Our project activities included the application of Epoxy Overlay, replacement of joints, and the completion of Fiber Wrap Beam Repair. The series of images provide an insightful glimpse into the meticulous process involved in the Fiber Wrap repair. Initially, you can observe the application of soaked carbon fiber onto the beam, clearly visible in its black form. This crucial step is followed by the final stages where the Fiber Wrap section is completed with a protective coating, transforming it into a resilient white finish.
